Berlin old town highlight
One hour walk through Altstadt Koepenick
Altstadt Koepenick is the historic heart of the Koepenick district in southeast Berlin. Koepenick was an independent town until it became part of Greater Berlin in 1920, and the old center still feels more like a small town than a typical big-city neighbourhood.
The compact route works well for a relaxed one-hour walk. Around the town hall, narrow streets and restored old buildings create a calm walking area with cafes, water views and mainly traffic-free corners. The Dahme and Spree waterways are close by, so the old town is also a good stop before continuing toward Schloss Koepenick or the lake areas around Mueggelsee.
